PLC based Controls for Compressors

Stepless Capacity Control Panels for Reciprocating Compressors

  • Reciprocating compressors have a limitation that the capacity at which they can work on are only in steps (e.g. 25%, 50%, 75%, 90%, 95%, 100%). Generally to subvent this, a bypass valve is provided which adjusts the step gradually. However the change of the capacity step will cause a slight distortion and the process may not remain smooth. To avoid this, the reciprocating compressor valves are equipped with a special type of linear control valve which ensures a smooth capacity control for the reciprocating compressors.
  • We have built more than 50 such panels for stepless capacity controls of the Reciprocating compressors using Hoerbiger CIU as well as AB PLCs.

Turbine Driven Compressor Controls

  • We have a huge experience of working in Turbines as well as Compressors and we have a special liking for mixing both these technologies for controls.
  • We provide the complete Turbo-Compressor controls including Overspeed protection, Capacity controls, Governor and all other protections for the complete Turbine-Compressor train.
  • Based on the client preference, we can provide PLC based controls or third party devices like CCC, Woodward, etc. or a mix of both.

Reciprocating Compressor Controls

  • We provide Compressor controls including Vibration and temperature protection, Capacity controls and all other protections for the complete Reciprocating Compressor train.
  • Based on the client preference, we can provide PLC based controls of client's preferred PLC make.

Screw Compressor Controls

  • We provide Compressor controls including Vibration and temperature protection, Capacity controls and all other protections for the complete Screw Compressor train.

Centrifugal Compressor Controls

  • Centrifugal machines are highly critical machines which require very strong understanding of the machine as well as the process.
  • Any problems with the controls will result in huge down time for the customer and high value losses for the customer as well as OEM.
  • We have a strong team of software engineers having right understanding of the centrifugal machine, its surge points, surge lines, Minimum and maximum currents, bypass valves and significance of each of these items.

  • We have in house capability of building surge prevention and detection software using general purpose PLCs.
  • Surge logics are built so as to have higher efficiency and lesser flow through the bypass valve.
  • Minimum flow control, discharge pressure control, maximum current control as well as surge line tracking are taken care of while building the surge logics.
  • HIC can also be provided for the centrifugal machines for the customer’s process requirements of controlling the control valves as special conditions.
  • Customer specific requirements for surge control can also be provided.
  • We can also provide control panels using third party control equipment like CCC or similar equivalent controllers by doing all the required engineering.
  • EIC provides all these controls using any of the client's preferred PLC fulfilling major redundancy requirements at various levels."

Load Sharing Sequencer panel for Compressors

  • Plants employ multiple compressors to fulfill their total capacity requirement which is generally not available using a single compressor available in the market. Also, by using multiple compressors, plants can save energy by switching off a few compressors in case the plant is not operating on full load.
  • We offer load sharing solutions for multiple compressors using PLC based controls using which the compressors can be controlled automatically based on the plant output requirement. The algorithm obviously takes care of the machines taken for maintenance and also the running hours clocked by each compressor.

Integrated Starter and Control Panel for Compressors

  • We offer the client an integrated solution for the compressor control with the starter set of the complete compressor along with its auxiliaries.
  • With such a solution, we take care of the complete electrical and control requirements required by the compressor and motor for starting and operation of the machine.
